We are excited to announce that Dr. Kathryn Hart joined the Ackerly McBride Group on February 24, 2025. Dr. Hart’s commitment to her patients and her passion for treating the whole person make her an obvious fit for Ackerly McBride.
Dr. Hart is a Professor of Family Medicine at the Georgetown University School of Medicine and the Director of the Primary Care Leadership Track. She has been caring for patients of all ages for over 16 years. She has won multiple awards for her commitment to educating the next generation of primary care doctors.
Originally from the DC area, she graduated from Cornell University and earned her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and received the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award. She completed her residency training in Family Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. After residency, she returned to the University of Maryland School of Medicine where she served as the Director Medical Student Education and Clerkship Director in the Department of Family Medicine.

She is beloved by her patients and medical students alike. At Ackerly McBride, she will focus on adolescent and adult primary care, bringing her deep understanding of family dynamics and diverse health needs across the lifespan.
Dr. Hart lives in Chevy Chase with her husband and four children. Please join us in welcoming her to the practice!
“Listen to the patient, he is telling you the diagnosis.” - Sir William Osler
“This quote has been a guiding principle for me throughout my career as a physician. I deeply value longitudinal relationships with patients and their families, listening to their concerns, and partnering with them in their care.”
- Kathryn Hart, MD
